2009 SOCIALIZATION PROGRAM OF DISASTER MANAGEMENT POLICY

Indonesia as archipelago nation is a disaster area. Beside of its geographic factor, the disaster may caused by human factor. Government’s effort to overcome this problem is still get barrier by the absence of planning and health officer competency, and also lack of community awareness on disaster management.
Crisis Centre Ministry of Health has a role to arrange every policy on disaster management and also give various disaster management trainings.
To achieve the goal, Crisis Centre Ministry of Health needs to conduct socialization of its policies to establish health authority capability on disaster management and cross sector coordination.
In 2009, socialization program of Disaster Management Policy conducted on Gorontalo Province, Banten Province, North Maluku Province, West Papua Province, North Sulawesi Province, Jambi Province, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam Province, DI Yogyakarta, Province and South Sumatera Province. With this program, Government could establish the effective health service as soon as possible at disaster.
